This term, we will be using VisibleAI (www.visibleai.io), an innovative platform that integrates advanced AI tools into your coursework through an easy-to-use editor. This is not about "catching" students using AI, but rather fostering transparency in the writing process, allowing students to see exactly what their instructor will see. The goal is to help students to develop AI literacy skills, which has become a key skillset that employers are already looking for. The built-in AI Assistant is a helpful resource that allows you to improve your writing, get personalized suggestions, and track your progress. It’s designed to support your learning and make completing assignments more efficient.
How to Use VisibleAI as an Aid to Compose Your Work
The editor includes several tools in the right sidebar to support your writing process. This includes the Insight tab found in the bar chart icon. This feature allows you to track analytics such as the amount of AI-generated content and pasted content found in your writing.
Registration/Support
For LMS-Integrated Courses:
To access your assignment in VisibleAI, click the “Load [Activity Title] in a new window” button in your course page’s assignment details.
For Non-LMS-Integrated Courses:
Navigate to the correct server in your browser
If your institution is located in Canada, go to ca.visibleai.io
If your institution is located in the United States, go to us.visibleai.io
Enter your email address and click the “Send Access Link” button
Check your email (including the junk folder) for a message from VisibleAI Support with a unique link to access the editor. This link will log you into VisibleAI.
Navigate to your specific assignment and start working.
