How do I use VisibleAI to compose my assignment?
VisibleAI is designed to be a modern, easy-to-use editor with extra features to help you make the most of AI in your assignments.
The editor includes several tools in the right sidebar to support your writing process:
Composition Tab
This is where you’ll write your assignment. It provides a clean, distraction-free workspace for you to focus on your work.
Insights Tab
This tab offers helpful analytics about your assignment:
AI Content: The percentage of your assignment that was generated using AI.
AI Revised Content: The percentage of content that’s been edited to improve spelling and grammar.
Pasted Content: The percentage of content you’ve copied from external sources. If you paste content into VisibleAI, you'll need to provide a comment explaining the source and why it’s relevant.
Word Count: The total number of words in your composition.
Time Spent: The total time you've spent working on the assignment.
Note: The “Time Spent” metric only tracks active typing time. This means the timer runs when you are actively writing or editing your work in the editor.
If you leave the tab open but are not typing, that time will not be counted.
Authenticity Score: A tooltip providing additional context on how AI and pasted content impact the originality of your assignment.
Max AI/Pasted Percentages: Displays the highest percentage of AI-generated or pasted content within the assignment.
Assignment Details Tab
This tab shows all the essential assignment details provided by your instructor to make sure you’re staying on track with the requirements.
This is your primary workspace where you’ll compose your assignment. The editor provides a clean, distraction-free interface to help you focus on your writing.
AI Assistant Tab
This tab allows you to interact with different LLMs. You can ask questions or make queries, and then insert the AI-generated responses directly into your assignment by clicking “Insert Text” or copying and pasting the content.
Comments Tab
This tab shows a history of any comments related to pasted content, making it easy to track external sources used in your work.
History Tab
Here, you can view previous versions of your document, along with the analytics for each version, such as AI Content and Pasted Content percentages. This helps you keep track of your progress over time.
The Side Panel
Resizable Side Panel
Students can now dynamically adjust the side panel, giving them greater control over their workspace. This feature enables students to allocate more or less space for the AI Assistant and other available tabs as needed.
Toggle
Students can now open or close the side panel using the side panel icons, allowing for a more flexible and customizable user experience.
Navigation
The navigation bar offers a variety of tools to help you customize your composition, including options to adjust font size, style, alignment, add underlining, bold, italics, and much more to enhance the appearance and formatting of your text.
Ability to Revert to Previous Versions
Students can now revert to previous versions of their work using the History tab. This ensures that they can track changes and return to an earlier version of their submission if needed.
AI-Revised: Confirm or Revert
Students now have the option to either confirm or revert AI-Revised content before submitting their work. This provides them with more control over AI-generated modifications, ensuring that their final submission aligns with their intent.
