List of Student Submissions

You can access student submissions by selecting the activity you are interested in. This will bring you to a class list. Beside each student's name, you will see their activity progress. They may have either Not Started, be In Progress, or have Submitted. For those who are either In Progress or have Submitted, you will also see how much of their content is AI, original, or pasted from some other source. You will also see their word count and how long they spent typing in their assignment.

To view a particular student's creation, you must wait until they have submitted their assignment. Once submitted, you can select their name, which will be highlighted in purple. This will bring you to their submission and allow you to see more details of their assignment.

Reviewing Student Submissions

In VisibleAI there are five right sidebar navigation options:

Composition Tab
This tab displays the student’s composition of the assignment, allowing you to view their work as it was written.

Insights Tab

The Insights Tab provides detailed analytics on how students composed their assignment, including:

  • AI Content: The percentage of your assignment that was generated using AI.

  • AI Revised Content: The percentage of content that’s been edited to improve spelling and grammar.

  • Pasted Content: The percentage of content you’ve copied from external sources. If you paste content into VisibleAI, you'll need to provide a comment explaining the source and why it’s relevant.

  • Word Count: The total number of words in your composition.

  • Time Spent: The total time you've spent working on the assignment.

  • Authenticity Score: A tooltip providing additional context on how AI and pasted content impact the originality of your assignment.

  • Max AI/Pasted Percentages: Displays the highest percentage of AI-generated or pasted content within the assignment.

By clicking on different colored text, instructors can view detailed information about how specific content was created. For example, clicking red-highlighted text will show the AI query used by the student, while green-highlighted text will show the student's comment explaining pasted content.

Assignment Details Tab
This tab shows the assignment details set up by the instructor, including course name, objectives, and due dates.

AI Assistant Tab
Here, instructors can see a history of student queries to different AI models, providing insights into how students are using AI in their work.

Comments Tab
This tab shows a history of any comments related to pasted content, making it easy to track external sources used in your work.

History Tab
The History Tab lets instructors and students review previous versions of the document, including analytics like AI Content and Pasted Content, to track progress over time.

Downloading Student Work

If you wish to download a student composition along with insight into their AI usage, you can select the Download button that appears as a downward arrow at the top next to the Previous Submission and Next Submission buttons.

This will open a preview for you that can be printed or saved as a pdf.

Note: Students are able to remove their own submission and resubmit up until the deadline.
