When the Authenticity Score is enabled, instructors can set an AI policy for the assignment, further supporting academic integrity.
What is the Authenticity Score and How Does It Work?
The Authenticity Score measures a student’s originality based on the AI policy settings defined by the instructor.
How AI Policy Settings Work
Instructors can set limits on the percentage of AI-generated or pasted content allowed in an assignment. These settings help define clear expectations for student originality.
How the Authenticity Score is Calculated
The score decreases if the percentage of AI-generated or pasted content exceeds the allowed threshold. For example, if a policy allows 20% pasted content and a student submits 25%, the score will decrease to reflect the 5% excess.
Purpose of the Authenticity Score
The Authenticity Score helps instructors understand how much students rely on AI or external content. It provides insights into student work, with the score decreasing from 100% as reliance on such content grows. The goal is to signal when students exceed the set originality expectations.
